Self-Reliance Brings Back Smiles to Domestic Violence Survivors
An LA Times article focuses on the strong, beautiful resiliance of domestic violence survivors in Pakistan and the positive effect an Italian nonprofit organization's efforts has made to help female survivors of acid and kerosene oil burns in Pakistan. The nonprofit, Depilex Smileagain Foundation, offers survivors essential first-aid treatment, appropriate medical attention and reconstructive surgery, mental health support, shelter, and vocational training. Their mission, to create social awareness and sensitivity, while working towards the complete eradication of this heinous crime.
