Foster Grandparent Program helping Elders to Share with the Youth

Interesting to read about a national program that links our elders with youth - particularly those kids who have had a bit of a tough go of it in life. I did a quick search and it seems the Foster Grandparent program is happening in quite a few communities across the country. I would be interested in learning about more programs like this that connect children w/ mentors / elders. Anyone out there is familiar with orgs working in this area?

Hey Rylan, this doesn't seem like it's linking to the right article. Could you post the correct url?

There are a number of programs in LA County that provide seniors with the opportunity to mentor youth placed in foster care. I love the idea of connecting senior volunteers with a little time on their hands, and a wealth of knowledge and experience, with children and young people with exceptional needs!
